The Space Systems Engineering and Integration Organization in SSSD has several openings for Space Systems Engineers to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. These positions will be located in the Space Park Center of Excellence to include Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach and El Segundo in Southern California.
Multiple roles are available throughout the product development life-cycle of our programs with emphasis in one of the following disciplines:
Space Segment/ Space Vehicle Systems Engineering, Design, and Architecture Development
Alignments/ Sensor Analysis/ Sensor Accommodations
Payload Accommodation and Integration
Launch Systems Integration
Requirements and Verification
Configuration Data Management
Related Processes and Tools Development
Available positions require that the candidate have a strong understanding of one or more of the skills described. Project roles span all phases from new business acquisition, and IRAD/ technology development to established programs.
More specifically, a Systems Engineer is needed to manage the Space Vehicle-Level mass properties for the Ruby program.
-Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5+ years of engineering experience OR Master’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 3+ years of engineering experience OR PhD in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
-Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances:
-Current SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications (some of the following and the rest will be learned on the job):
-Master’s Degree in Engineering
-Experience working on aircraft or spacecraft systems
-Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing requirements
-Experience in system architecture, CONOPs, or model based system engineering
-Experience in subsystem, payload, or system integration
-Experience using DOORS, Cameo
-Strong people skills
-Excellent communication skills (upward and downward)

Salary Range: $104,600 USD – $157,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
