Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Director, Strategic Development. The Strategic Development business area is responsible for early identification and capture of growth opportunities related to new and emerging technologies and capabilities for a major weapon system. This is a direct report of the Vice President of Program Management. The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Lead contracted programs and IRAD efforts focused on the study, analysis and risk reduction of future relevant technologies and capabilities.
Establish Long Range Strategic Plans (LRSP) associated with a robust program capability roadmap. Identify associated NCTA and Capital necessary to support the LRPS commitments. The person selected for this role will be responsible for executing the capture programs associated with the LRSP commitments.
Establish capture plans following Business Acquisition Process guidelines, ensuring stakeholder approval of strategy, plans, and capture gates, while leading the team to successful execution of the strategy and plans.
Collaborate with the program customer to build value propositions associated with the future technologies and capabilities. Provide briefings and white papers for senior leaders in collaboration with the customer or independently.
Collaborate with other program business areas (Development, Production, Operations and Sustainment) to ensure alignment of growth strategies and captures with current program efforts, as well as ensuring seamless handoff of captured programs to the relevant business area.
Collaborate across Northrop Grumman sectors and Corporate Campaigns to identify broader corporate strategies leveraging common technologies and program relevance and headwind.
Establish and manage performance dashboards to create program visibility at all levels.
Identify top-level risks, issues, and actions and ensure resolution.
Develop deliverables (i.e., monthly management report) and talking points for executive level engagements.

Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of related professional / military experience
Background in program management in the defense industry
Experience working with executives and senior leaders
Experience leading / aligning teams to achieve a common goal in a dynamic work environment
Experience managing communications with stakeholders
Demonstrated depth in technical and business acumen
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
Master’s degree and advanced training in program management and capture management
The ability to address uncertainty through an organized and analytical forward-looking approach
Experience in program management across all phases of a program lifecycle
Experience with execution of large, multi-year development programs
Experience with Earned Value Management
Active DoD Top Secret / SCI clearance
Salary Range: $176,200 USD – $264,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
