Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer Systems. This position will be located in Orlando, FL and will support our Ground Satellite Communications Systems (GSCS) Operating Unit (OU) design, development, delivery, and sustainment of next-generation, enterprise-level satellite ground systems and software.

Role and Responsibilities

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications:

  — Bachelor’s Stem degree and 9 years’ experience OR Master’s Stem degree and 7 years’ experience OR PhD. and 4 years’ experience

   — Experience working in an Agile environment

   — Technical writing experience

   — Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes

— Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

   — Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools (eg, Cameo)

   — Experience in developing, managing, and decomposing requirements

   — Experience supporting Discrepancy Review Boards

   — Experience documenting and managing discrepancy/anomaly reports

   — Experience with DOORS, Confluence, and JIRA

   — Experience with satellite ground station systems

— Experience developing system architecture or CONOPs

   — Experience developing ICDs

  — Experience with developing CI/CD workflows and utilizing tools such as Nexus, Maven, Jira, GitLab, Jenkins, and Release Management

Salary Range: $112,000 USD – $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
