Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineering Manager 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Space Park, Redondo Beach, California.

The Proliferated Systems Operating Unit is seeking a Tranche 1 Transport Layer (T1TL) Systems Engineering (SE) Lead. The selected candidate will report to Tranche 1 Systems Engineering & Integration Lead and will provide direction and leadership to the T1TL system engineering team.

The T1TL SE Lead will focus on T1TL execution, leading a team of 20+ and overseeing critical program functions including mission engineering, requirements and verification, system test planning, mission operations planning,  common payloads systems engineering, spectrum management, system safety, and cybersecurity.  The T1TL SE Lead will have significant influence on upcoming key program milestones including System CDR, TRR, PSR, and FRR, and will also have full CAM responsibilities including schedule development, earned value reporting, and team staffing.  The lead is expected to ensure team mentorship and engagement is maintained at a high priority.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 9+ years of engineering experience (7+ with a MS, 4+ with a PhD)

Understanding of systems engineering principles and processes

Experience as a cost account manager (CAM) utilizing the earned value management system (EVMS)

Active Top Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Effectively communicate and present to directors, other technical managers and customers

Proven team leadership experience

15+ years of experience with Systems Engineering

Salary Range: $176,100 USD – $264,100 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
