Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Principal Military Trainer – Exercise Support Planner to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Fort Leavenworth, in Kansas.  The selected candidate will join our Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), which trains Army Corps, Divisions, and Brigades in the Army Mission Command Systems and Operations Process.  The Principal Military Trainer leverages specialized expertise in planning and executing some or all phases of military training exercises, including doctrinal development, scenario development, and after action review (AAR) and analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Acts as primary Exercise Support Division (ESD) Contractor Point of Contact (CONPOC) and provide guidance to the Principal Military Exercise Planner

Ensures timely writing, publishing, and delivery of Exercise Life Cycle Event contract deliverables (CDRL) while retaining highest quality by the team

Provides guidance to the Exercise Support Manning and Equipment Document (ESMED) Manager

Ensures the initial manning requirements for the initial Exercise Planning Travel Management System (EPTMS) are met

Maintains habitual relationship with other Operations Groups (OPSGRP’s) Analysts and POCs

Serves as the CONPOC/APOC in Simulation Control Plan (SCP) and coordinates with the SCP Lead in the development of CDRLs

Works with other Divisions within the Headquarters Support Team (HST) to develop room builds and determine equipment and personnel needs for each exercise

Basic Qualifications:

One of the following:

High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 10 years of professional and/or military leadership experience

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of professional and/or military leadership experience

Master’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of professional and/or military leadership experience

Must currently possess an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance

Must be able to work on-site at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas

Must be able to travel as needed (typically 5-6 trips per year of a week or longer; up to 25% of the time)

Must be able to deploy to various countries, as required, in support of U.S. military operations

Proficient with MS Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access)

Able to write at a college level, with experience in military writing style

Preferred Qualifications:

U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, or Military Education Level 4 (MEL 4) equivalent Intermediate Level Education (ILE)

Experience in an Operational Staff

Salary Range: $67,800 USD – $101,600 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
