Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Associate Project Manager or Project Manager to join our team. The candidate will support overseeing and managing the financial aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management operating unit management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. Must be highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and a skilled communicator.

This onsite project management position will support program Mission Assurance (IPT) on a restricted effort in Palmdale or Rancho Bernardo, CA, with some travel between those two sites. The overall responsibilities include executable tasks that will enable IPT leadership to achieve operational excellence. This position’s standard work schedule is a 4/10, Monday-Thursday workweek, and is not eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities may include the following:

Support of IPT Staff meetings including meeting facilitation, chart compilation, and action item tracking
Data aggregation and reporting on IPT charging metrics and financials from MPM data
Support of Change Request process and collection of impacts
Updates and improvements to team SharePoint site and knowledge base resources
Support of new business proposal writing and team organization
Assessment of project issues and development of resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Development of mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Support of Monthly EAC Updates, EVCRs, VARs, IMS tasking
Weekly Namerun Support
Conduct business travel up to 25% of the time from assigned work location to Palmdale or Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Basic Qualifications for Associate Project Manager:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 0 years of related experience
Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products
Working knowledge of Project Management principles
Ability to obtain/maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access

Basic Qualifications for Project Manager:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 3 years of related experience; OR Master’s degree with 1 years of experience
Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products
Working knowledge of Project Management principles
Ability to obtain/maintain an active DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in business management/business administration
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance within 6 years of last investigation / adjudication 
Current Special Program Access
Project integration experience
Experience Risk/issue/opportunities-
Experience/certification- Control Account Manager (CAM)
Project Management Professional Certification
Proposal writing experience
Aerospace and/or Defense Industry Experience

This position reports to Palmdale, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from San Diego, CA, CA, USA.

Salary Range: $58,000 USD – $87,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $70,200 USD – $105,200 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
