Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for an Aircraft Electrician – Level 1. This position will be supporting our Moss Point, MS. facility, and requires onsite presence due to the nature of the role.  We are a world-class manufacturer of composite structures, radomes, and antenna systems for military applications.

The Aircraft Electrician – Level 1 will be responsible for understanding the general and detailed aspects of the job.  He / She will be comfortable performing simple and repetitive tasks.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

Electrical assembly and wire harness installation
Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary
Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves
Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as: transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners (bolts, screws, or solder)
May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures

The ideal candidate will have high integrity and understand the importance of escalating errors to their supervisor immediately.  He / She should be able to perform all duties required to lay-out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cables on aircraft. 

*This position requires the ability to work a 1st shift schedule and will work a 4/10 schedule.

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED
Experience fabricating and installing electrical wiring or coaxial cable
Must be able to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work including bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting a maximum of 25 pounds, and working overhead
Must be able to access small, confined spaces and work in an enclosed environment
Must be able to pass a Special Medical/Respiratory Exam and to be certified for a half & full-face respirator

Preferred Qualifications:

Completion of an A&P certificate program
Minimum of 9 months electrical experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment
Experience attaching wires or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards
Transitioning service member or veteran of the U.S. military service or current military guard or reserve member
Spouse of a transitioning military service member or current military guard or reserve member

Salary Range: $34,500 USD – $57,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
