NG Space Systems Payload & Ground Systems Division (PGSD) is looking for a Manager, Software/Systems Engineering 2 (Grade S02) to support its Ground Element (GE) Software IPT as their New Business Lead for the Advanced Mission Programs (AMP) in Redondo Beach, CA.
What You’ll get to Do:
Responsibilities will include:
Represent Ground Software for New Business Activities as the Software New Business Lead to support business development activity that directly impacts the company’s core business; handling contracts valued in the millions of dollars.
Work with SW Subproject Managers (SPMs) to develop cost estimation and write Task Descriptions/Basis of Estimates (TD/BOEs) for each SW development WBS area, including SW Development management
Assist in the development of the Cost Volume (creation of Pricing Green Sheets), Period of Performance, Staffing, Schedule, and Technical Volume
Assist in the cost modeling, including use of the Galorath SEER SEM parametric estimation tool, research of historical data
Represent Ground SW in customer meetings and coordination with other project teams
Identify Bill of Material (BOM) and interface with Global Supply Chain (GSC) Material Pricer with vendor quotes
Participate in cost and pricing reviews with management and functional representatives
Develop and present sign-off briefing packages to program and functional leadership
Oversee all reviews for proposal artifacts. Provide support to red team review, non-advocate review (NAR), and independent cost estimate (ICE)
Candidate will also be expected to fill a 20% part-time functional Section Manager role and will be responsible for 10 – 12 software engineers, systems engineers, and/or cyber /information assurance engineers. The responsibilities of the p/t section manager role includes: Support functional management activities such as staffing and workload forecast; employee engagement, mentoring and career development; identification and training of skills required to execute on programs; Participate in sourcing, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management; and Support Business Strategy Efforts (including proposals, gate reviews, independent review team, NAR/ICE, as necessary)
Current DoD Top- Secret clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI clearance prior to start date
9 years of Engineering experience with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related engineering field a STEM discipline; 7 years of Engineering experience with Masters; 4 Years with a PhD
Experience in ground systems deliverables and processes
Self-starter who completes tasking with minimal supervision
Strong diagnostic/problem solving skills
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively
Previous experience working on proposal TD/BOEs is a plus
Works well in a team environment
Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
Demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Working knowledge of Galorath SEER for Software (SEER-SEM) is a plus
Active SCI clearance
Salary Range: $147,800 USD – $221,800 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
