We are currently seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with Active Secret Clearance who will research, plan, design, develop, and document mechanical and electromechanical components and assemblies for a variety of Advanced Programs. This includes, but is not limited to, electronic components and assemblies, airframes, separation mechanisms, and more!
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering AND a minimum of nine (9) years Mechanical and/or Electrical Design experience using CAD software OR a Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering AND a minimum of seven (7) years Mechanical and/or Electrical Design experience using CAD software.
A US Gov’t Secret clearance and eligibility for Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Self-Starter familiar with dynamic work environments.
Familiarity with Special Access Program (SAP) environments.
Certification as an Engineer-In-Training (EIT).
Familiarity with PTC Creo (7.0 is preferred) and Windchill.
Familiarity with ASME Y14.5.
Experience with CCA design and/or fabrication.
Experience with Machining (Mill, Lathe, Router, etc…).
Experience with additive manufacturing (3D Printing, Rapid Prototyping, etc…).
Experience with structural analysis using both hand-calculations and FEA software (Nastran, Abacus, etc…).
Familiarity with Trade Studies.
This position reports to Northridge, CA, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Tucson, AZ, AZ, USA.
Salary Range: $101,600 USD – $176,500 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
