Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Engineer – Facilities.  This position will be located in Huntsville, AL.  This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.  

  

What You’ll Get To Do:?   

Plans, designs and oversees the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities.
Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.
Coordinates with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings.
Prepares bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition.
Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.??  

  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:  

  

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years related experience; 3 years with a Masters; 0 years with a PhD; or and additional 4 years in lieu of degree
Experience in developing and/or reviewing project statements of work and coordinating with stakeholders 
Knowledge of ICD 705 construction requirements 
Knowledge of cleanroom design and construction 
Knowledge of building HVAC systems and industrial sized plants for central service supply 
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), fire systems, lighting and building control systems 
Working knowledge of CMMS, BAS operating principles 
Strong background in infrastructure design and maintenance 

Salary Range: $86,300 USD – $129,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
