Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Propulsion Systems, is recruiting for a Sr. Manager, Material Program Planning (CAM) who will be responsible for managing a group of material cost account managers responsible for cost control and reporting of a program material and subcontract budget for components and materials used in production of rocket motors and rocket motor manufacturing.  In addition, this position’s team will lead material pricing efforts for proposal preparation and manage the material forecast.  This position will report directly to the Director, Global Supply Chain in the business unit. 


Lead group of material cost control managers that manage cost and schedule performance against budget and schedule baseline
Develop standards and work instructions for material estimating and ongoing cost control and reporting
Oversee and manage the material forecast for the business unit
Lead monthly business reporting to adequately track and monitor material cost performance to budget for each program
Work closely with Material Program Managers to put in place and coordinate corrective action plans to mitigate variances to the baseline plan
Implement tools and standard work to ensure that material EAC analysis is consistent across the business
Manage material EAC preparation and management for the business unit
Oversee and report supplier and material status, issues affecting program execution and necessary corrective actions
Work cohesively with leaders in other disciplines in the business such as sourcing, material planning, finance, scheduling, production control, and the program office to manage material cost performance and reporting and maintain adequate status
Utilizes Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas

Expected Requirements / Technical Skills:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
6+ years’ experience in finance, purchasing, subcontracts, or related field
Strong background in utilizing Earned Value Management techniques and experience implementing those standards
Strong background in a finance related discipline in addition to experience in supply chain management
Experience with pricing bills of material to be compliant with FAR/DFAR requirements in support of government proposals
Ability to manage and implement risk mitigation strategies
Prior experience leading a team, project, or process; ability to mentor and motivate others to meet complex objectives
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate feedback in a manner that fosters collaboration, trust, and builds positive relationships
Ability to work in an integrated team environment and influence change
Strong knowledge and experience in government contracting requirements and regulations (e.g. FAR, DFARS, ITAR, etc.)
Ability to guide and train others in price/cost analysis techniques

Preferred Requirements / Technical Skills:

Master of Business Administration; emphasis in Finance or Supply Chain Management preferred
Strong background and experience working with MRP/ERP systems
Knowledge and background of materials used in rocket motor manufacturing
Strong background in pricing bills of material developed for rocket motor manufacturing
It is strongly preferred that this position be able to work on-site a minimum of 50% of the time.  However, remote work flexibility will be considered for the right candidate

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off

This position reports to Magna, UT, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Corinne, UT, UT, USA.

Salary Range: $125,700 USD – $188,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
