Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Scrum Master or a Sr. Principal Scrum Master. This position is in Roy, UT and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program.  The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services, an organization of highly skilled and diverse individuals responsible for providing information technology solutions and services across Northrop Grumman, and driving superior business performance through a robust, secure, cost-effective IT infrastructure which enables collaboration and strategic business partnering to foster innovation and technology.

The selected candidate will serve as a Scrum Master to work with a highly motivated Agile team to provide oversight of the Agile framework to ensure operational excellence in product deliveries. The selected candidate will provide guidance and help educate the team in Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile framework (SAFe), ensuring that the Agile process is being followed. The selected candidate will also help remove impediments and fosters an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform the role of Scrum Master as described in the Scrum Guide
Act as a servant-leader and facilitator to support teams in the day-to-day operation of their lean-agile practices
Empowers the team to self-organize and to take collective responsibility for delivering value to the customer through development of high-quality products
Build a trusting, safe environment within the team where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged
Actively facilitate team events (e.g. Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective) and supporting activities such as backlog refinement to ensure that the relevant objectives are achieved
Promote effective engagement between the team and its stakeholders, by protecting the integrity of the team’s process to enable predictable delivery
Help the team to identify coherent and achievable goals in consultation with stakeholders
Support the team in identifying and addressing impediments to the attainment of goals, including taking action to remove impediments where appropriate
Drive sustainable continuous improvement, including by collating and deriving insights from data
Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency and making information visible
Support teams or individuals to improve performance and achieve goals through coaching and mentoring
Provide training to impart or reinforce knowledge of Lean-Agile concepts, tools and practices
Provide support with risk management, release management, and facilitate release planning activities maintaining and improving the flow of value delivery
Take responsibility for your own professional development through training, mentoring, professional memberships etc.
Support Northrop Grumman’s growth by providing input to business development and capture activities as required
Demonstrate the Northrop Grumman Leadership Characteristics at all times
This position will be performed onsite.

Basic Qualifications – Principal Scrum Master: 

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years experience, Associates degree with 7 years experience
2+ years working in an Agile team
Thorough knowledge of agile principles, practices and methods
Practical experience of servant-leadership in agile teams
Excellent organizational and facilitation skills
Excellent time management skills.
Exceptional oral, written, and presentation communication skills
Self-starting mentality and willingness to take ownership of difficult challenges
Must have experience in communicating with various levels of leadership.
Desire to drive change, implement new ways of working and think “out of the box
Scrum Master certification (i.e. Scrum Inc, Scrum Alliance, SAFe, Scrum@Scale, etc.)
Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance with an adjudication or periodic reinvestigation date within the last 5 years; must be able to maintain the required security clearance as a condition of continued employment.
Must be able to obtain Special Access Programs (SAP/SAR) within a period of time as determined by customer and/or program requirements; must be able to maintain SAP/SAR as a condition of continue employment.

Salary Range: $90,400 USD – $135,600 USD
Salary Range 2: $112,000 USD – $168,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
