Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an AVE Lab Design and Integration Test Manager 2 to join its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This leadership role is located in Roy, Utah. Learn more about the Sentinel (GBSD) program here. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
The AVE (Aerospace Vehicle Equipment) Lab Design and Integration Test Manager 2 will report to the Flight Systems Integration and Test Lab Manager. This individual will be responsible for the overall Sentinel Missile hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) lab design and integration to include implementing test capabilities, integrating test support equipment, and identifying lab test limitations. To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must be a driver and leader for collaboration across many different sub-IPT teams for a successful integration test of the missile hardware and software configuration. The candidate must also have familiarity with a lab environment.
In this position, the AVE Lab Design and Integration Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Hardware in the Loop Integration – Lead the lab team in the design of the HWIL test lab to support hardware and software test objectives. This includes but is not limited to understanding test objectives, test requirements, development of test support equipment requirements, design of cable harnesses, lab layout and interconnect diagrams, design of flight hardware fixtures, and supporting the Integrated Functional Capability test and certification effort.
System Architecture – Lead the design and development of test support equipment requirements, trade studies and decision analysis resolution for design solutions, and coordination with systems engineering and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
Design Change Impact Assessment – Ensure that approved design changes in lab architecture are compatible with existing components and subsystems, particularly for efforts requiring the support of more than one engineering discipline.
Requirements-based Testing and TLYF Management – Ensure lab capabilities, integration concepts, and integration flows are constructed in a Test Like You Fly manner.
Data Review Management – Lead the process and review products for formal data review and hold the engineering teams accountable for objective, efficient and timely review of test data.
Employee Management – Oversee the performance, progression and mentoring of the Integration, Assembly, Test and Checkout engineers on the team. Authority to manage personnel and direct activities required to accomplish the statement of work.
Schedule and Cost Reporting Management – Accountable for timely cost and schedule status and reporting to upper level management to support program management reviews.
Travel – May be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Bachelors Degree in STEM from an accredited university with 6 years of experience; 4 years with a Masters of Science of Degree
Active Secret Clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years
3 years of experience supporting US Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries.
3 years of experience with system integration and test plan development at any level of build (unit, sub-system, system, etc.).
1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
US Citizenship is required.
Previous ICBM Experience is a plus.
CAM experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of Agile processes and tools
Previous Experience standing up a lab/environment/Hardware in the Loop test bed.
Knowledge and experience using CAMEO and/or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Principles.
Experience using DOORS Requirements Management Database.
Salary Range: $116,200 USD – $174,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
