Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Software Engineer based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

The responsibilities for this role include:

Technical contributor / leader of a small engineering program team focused on the development and evaluation of cyber technologies, ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer/product requirements into solutions that support technical, schedule and cost constraints
Technical planning for system and software development and integration, verification and validation, risk assessment and effectiveness for total system performance
Definition of high-level functional and performance requirements and verification methods, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to different physical and functional architectural elements
Generation of technical concepts and plans for white papers, proposals, NCTA and contractual briefings and reports
Occasional travel to Northrop Grumman and Government locations within the United States

They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This candidate will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional systems and software designs and methods of doing business. 

Basic Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s with 9 Years of experience. Or, 7 years with Master’s, 4 years with PhD, An additional 4 years of experience is required in lieu of a degree
Ability to develop using C/C++, Python Java
Familiarity with graph (e.g. Neo4j) and relational databases (e.g. MYSQL)
Proficient with development in multiple operation systems, i.e. Windows and Linux
Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) concepts
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility

Preferred Qualifications: 

STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) degree preferred
Experience with technology development planning: understanding the project goals and detail planning software development tasks which support successful end results
Experience with Reverse Engineering and Vulnerability Analysis of Hardware and Software
Experience with GNSS waveforms: RF signal processing including encoding and decoding, RF transmissions, and real-world applications
Experience with Agile Methodology, i.e. Epic and Feature definition
Experience with Software Defined Radios and GNURadio
Experience with development of lower level network protocols
Experience as a technical liaison between the engineering team and the internal and/or customer program offices
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI

Salary Range: $117,900 USD – $176,900 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
