Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in San Diego, CA.
The selected candidate will work as a Systems Engineer on the technical baseline management team on the Triton Production program, working with the Hardware Software Compatibility Matrix (HSCM) and Independent Loadable Data Set (ILDS). This role will support configuration management within the Triton system both in lab assets and in the fielded system. The chosen individual will assist in the definition of expected compatible components within the system, encompassing both Northrop Grumman products and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) while ensuring that the system maintains a known and controlled configuration.
Update and verify technical baseline documents – HSCM and ILDS
Interface with Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) to ensure latest configuration and all compatible hardware and software are properly captured
Conduct physical configuration audits of lab and fielded systems to ensure compliance
Update and release HSCM and ILDS through TeamCenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) release processes
Perform ILDS installations in the lab and make updates to installation procedures
Review Software Version Description (SVD) documentation from multiple IPTs to ensure accuracy and completeness
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable both in a lab environment and working with system requirements and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, software engineers, hardware designers, and test engineers.
BS degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 2+ years of engineering experience; Master’s degree in a STEM discipline
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance
Project organizational skills
Experience with technical baseline management; specifically technical configuration management of HW/SW configuration/compatibility matrices
Familiarity with TeamCenter PLM release process and/or engineering product structure
Ability to communicate directly with customer, Chief Engineer, and primary stakeholders for system configuration
An active DoD Secret clearance
Salary Range: $85,000 USD – $127,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
