Description:

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Propulsion Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.  This position will be located at Rocket Center, WV.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a highly qualified candidate with outstanding leadership skills to lead a team of propulsion engineers within the Propulsion Engineering Department at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in Rocket Center, WV.  The qualified applicant will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and transition to production of cutting edge, tactical solid rocket motor propulsion systems, as well as other aerospace and defense articles.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Oversee the execution of engineering work products on multiple programs
Ensure organizational and statutory policies and practices are adhered to
Establish and maintain efficient and effective teams
Mentor and coach engineers to advance their technical and professional skills
Evaluate individual performance and provide feedback through periodic reviews
Support internal development and research pursuits and proposals
Serve as a voting member on design and testing engineering review boards
Ensure the manpower and staffing needs of multiple programs are satisfied

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent accredited engineering degree
10 years’ experience in design and development of complex systems,
Experience leading a team of individuals to achieve a common goal on a large or challenging effort
Excellent leadership skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of audiences
Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

15 years’ experience in tactical solid rocket motor propulsion design and development
Prior demonstrated managerial experience
Position prefers a candidate with a current Secret Clearance

Relocation assistance is available for this position. 

Salary Range: $127,700 USD – $191,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
