Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems is seeking a DevOps Engineer. This position is located in Dulles, VA or Gilbert, AZ, but remote work may be considered.  The DevOps Engineer will support Tactical Space Systems Division in their development and deployment of satellite ground software to customer resources.

Automate cloud native technologies, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure
Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, containerization, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology
Build, maintain, and automate deployment on Kubernetes clusters
Work within the OpenStack cloud ecosystem to configure and deploy optimized infrastructure
Ensure monitoring and health of the resources deployed
Document procedures used during deployment cycles
Create designs and distribute work among other team members as a technical expert
Implement clean and maintainable infrastructure-as-code that adheres to industry best practices

This position can be filled at the Principal Engineer or Sr Principal Engineer level.

Basic Qualifications

Principal Engineer

Bachelors in Science and 5 years of experience; OR a Masters degree and 3 years of experience; OR a PhD and 0 years of experience. Experience can be considered in lieu of degree
Experience utilizing DevSecOps principals and toolsets
Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and concepts
Experience building Kubernetes Clusters
Experience with Containerization (Docker, Podman, etc)
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

Sr Principal Engineer

Bachelors in Science and 9 years of experience; OR a Masters degree and 7 years of experience; OR a PhD and 4 years of experience. Experience can be considered in lieu of degree
Proficiency utilizing DevSecOps principals and toolsets
Proficiency using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and concepts
Proficiency building Kubernetes Clusters
Proficiency with Containerization (Docker, Podman, etc)
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Agile methodology experience
Experience with OpenStack
Experience with ArgoCD
Experience creating, executing, and troubleshooting complex, automated processes used to configure servers and/or deploy code
Experience with continuous integration/deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, etc
Experience using Linux tool/automation and/or shell scripting (bash, ruby, perl, etc)
Experience in python
Experience with automation
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Space System







Salary Range: $104,600 USD – $157,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $129,700 USD – $194,500 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
