Northrop Grumman Corporation is currently seeking two Manager, Program I for the D5 Modernization Effort under Fleet Ballistic Missiles within Propulsion Systems business unit.
One position will be located at Promontory Utah and the other at Clearfield Utah.
Role Description & Responsibilities
The Program Manager I directs all phases of programs from inception through completion.
Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
Acts as customer contact for program activities, participating in program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications.
Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Job Profile
Essentially the “down and in” view of the program, with status reporting to the Senior Program Manager for external customer communication.
Manage day-to-day site-specific project tasks for D5 Modernization efforts at Clearfield (Chamber), Promontory (Igniter/Nozzle), or Bacchus (Loaded Motor, RMA) with an eye toward safety:
Manufacturing process improvements and qualification
Tooling improvement/upgrade/replacement and qualification
Digitization of data, analytical tools, and processes
Efforts might also include coordination with facilities and CapEx teams.
Manage site-specific cost/schedule (CAM) including EVMS
Ensure contract compliance (including prevention of scope creep)
Maintain close working relationships with engineering, operations, and any suppliers
Keep people accountable
Understand the details of the site-specific work
Remove roadblocks for the team including escalation to the appropriate level when needed
Maintain close working relationships with resident Lockheed Martin and Navy customers
Work with technical and manufacturing team to identify future improvements as well as CapEx/facility needs (estimate cost)
Coordinate with site-specific CapEx and Facilities teams, where needed
Oversee proposals for future work
Coordinate with the other Program Managers on the team to prioritize efforts to focus on the D5 Modernization objectives
Education and Required Skills/Experience:
BS degree in Engineering (preferred), Business, or Finance; Other degrees considered with demonstrated experience
5 years of relevant experience and at least 2-3 years of experience in leading multiple teams and previously managed projects (e.g.: Technical lead, CAM, PM)

Additional Requirements:
Ability to obtain a secret clearance
On site at least 50% of the time
Travel less than 10% time (customer meetings)
This position reports to Clearfield, UT, USA, however, this position can also be worked from Corinne, UT, UT, USA.
Salary Range: $106,400 USD – $159,600 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
