Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Manager of Contracts to join the qualified and diverse individuals of the Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) supporting contract negotiations and management of complex commercial geosynchronous spacecraft agreements or Northrop Grumman and cutting-edge on-orbit robotic space vehicle servicing contracts of Northrop Grumman’s subsidiary company, Space Logistics LLC. This positionis in Dulles, VA.
The successful candidate will work closely with legal, executive management, business development/sales, program managers and finance in negotiating and managing domestic and international contracts to achieve strong customer satisfaction, resolve contractual issues and perform customer coordination in accordance with agreement terms. Essential will be positively addressing and resolving or mitigating risk elements during contract negotiations to achieve a favorable risk position and acceptable agreement for Northrop Grumman/ Space Logistics. Working as a team, we cover a wide range of contractual activities and endeavor to jointly address contracts challenges. Reasonable work arrangements, including certain time in the office and potential working from home when circumstances permit, are possible for this position.
Responsibilities of the Manager of Contracts will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintaining a close attention to detail.
Bridging contract requirements and program execution.
Reviewing and obtaining approval of contractual documents.
Providing guidance to junior contracts associates.
Working cooperatively with a range of internal stakeholders.
Actively support diversity and inclusion.
Meeting customer needs and completion timeframes.
Negotiation of supporting documents.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with not less than seven years or greater of relevant experience in commercial contract negotiation and management.
Excellent understanding of legal principles governing contracts
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence others.
Ability to function independently and effectively with competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, hands-on secured environment.
Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic business unit leadership team
Solid understanding of the requirements of applicable government regulations, including the FAR and DFARS.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, and negotiating to all levels of management.
Ability to travel domestically or internationally, if required.
MBA, law degree and/or paralegal experience.
Experience with Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements.
Demonstrated leadership experience or supervisor experience
Thorough understanding of FAR/DFARS to support government spacecraft and space service contracts.
Experience in or familiarity with ITAR and export licensing laws and regulations.
Salary Range: $122,200 USD – $183,400 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
