Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Staff Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Position is located in Rancho Bernardo, CA.

Essential functions:

Perform static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program. Ensure that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives. The analyst may also be expected to derive non-flight applied loads, create, extract and distribute internal loads, and perform weight and stiffness optimization. Tools utilized may include FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications.

Candidate must be able to collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously, and comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 14 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 12 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 9 years of related engineering experience.
Experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis
Active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.
This position may require the ability to obtain Special Program Access (PAR). This PAR must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Airframe experience with Advanced Composite Materials
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance and ability to obtain access to Special Programs required prior to start of employment

Salary Range: $156,000 USD – $234,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
