Description

Are you a business intelligence (BI) analyst interested in making the world a safer place to live? You might be the person Leidos is looking for to provide program management support to the nuclear nonproliferation mission at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). This position helps federal program managers use data and other information to make sound business decisions for their research and development programs. It requires you to have demonstrated expertise in the areas of design and development of methods, processes, systems, and platforms to consolidate and analyze structured and unstructured, diverse and/or large data sets from disparate sources.  Key attributes include initiative and critical thinking to identify and prioritize actions to assist federal program managers to be successful in achieving program goals, excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the desire to work in a dynamic team environment.

This is a full-time, on-site position located in the Washington, DC NNSA offices with the opportunity for 20% telework after training.

Required Clearance:  Department of Energy (DOE) Q clearance or a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret clearance with no impediment to being read into Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Natural language processing (NLP) of legacy program documentation.
  • Fine-tuning of large language models (LLMs) using legacy program documentation.
  • Prompt engineering and other methods to facilitate more efficient and accurate review, evaluation, and integration of technical documents.
  • Developing and contributing to white papers or background information on special topics or select technologies.
  • Supporting program managers and office staff in the planning and execution of all program office activities, including (but not limited to) the annual call for proposal cycle and program reviews.
  • Developing/designing/evaluating information tools, algorithms, dashboards, and queries.
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging analytics and big-data technologies.
  • Identifying meaningful insights and interpreting and communicating findings and recommendations to customer leadership.
  • Exploring the applicability of artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms and techniques to nonproliferation missions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or another closely related field and 4+ years of relevant experience; master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Active DOE Q clearance or a DoD Top Secret clearance with no impediment to being read into SCI.
  • Experience in Microsoft Power Business Intelligence, Tableau Desktop, or similar platforms.
  • In-depth understanding of data science principles, theories, and concepts and their application within business intelligence platforms.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization/project.
  • Familiarity with the principal of related disciplines, including, but not limited to, natural language processing, machine learning, predictive modeling, statistical analysis, and hypothesis testing.
  • Experience in identifying meaningful insights and interpreting and communicating findings and recommendations to customer leadership.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. from an accredited university in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or another closely related field.
  • DOE Q clearance with SCI.
  • Experience providing technical programmatic support to Federal agencies.
  • Experience serving as a subject matter expert in data science/artificial intelligence.
  • Experience developing Microsoft Business Intelligence tools and dashboards.
  • Experience in areas such as data fusion, signal and image processing, analytics, cloud computing, machine learning, modeling and simulation, service-oriented architectures, data management and visualization, and pattern recognition.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 – $120,000.00 – $162,000.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
