Title:

Sr. GEOINT Scientist

KBR is seeking a Sr. GEOINT Scientist to support a government customer in Springfield, VA. The GEOINT Scientist provides expertise in the full range of GEOINT sources and sensor types and phenomenologies to include: Panchromatic, SAR, Infrared, and multi-spectral sensors (national, commercial and airborne sources), Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR), Full Motion Video (FMV), Motion Imagery (MI), Hyper-spectral imaging systems, and Light Detecting and Ranging (LiDAR) systems. This experience will be used to enable the detailed technical analysis of GEOINT product quality concerns. The expert Senior GEOINT Scientist will provide oversight and continuity of knowledge to the team and will support the broad range of assessments. 

 

Responsibilities/Job Function: 

Work with a team of image scientists, photogrammetrists, RADAR scientists, systems engineers, software engineers, and GEOINT Analysts in support of GEOINT product quality assessment planning, execution, results analysis and reporting.  

Provide expertise in the full range of GEOINT sources and sensor types and phenomenologies to include: Panchromatic, SAR, Infrared, and multi-spectral sensors (national, commercial and airborne sources), Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR), Full Motion Video (FMV), Motion Imagery (MI), Hyper-spectral imaging systems, and Light Detecting and Ranging (LiDAR) systems 

Provide expertise in sensor capabilities, data parameters, product performance and utility, standards and specifications, workflows, exploitation techniques, and tools. 

Assist in conducting early GEOINT product quality requirements review and risk assessments of new sensor data, NSG/ASG systems and capabilities, and data workflows. 

Support assessment of product geolocation accuracy using verified geolocation of a known features, verifying mensuration accuracy through measurement of known objects, calculating ground sample distance, and other photogrammetric analyses as directed.  

 

Minimum Qualifications 

BS or higher degree in Engineering, Science, Imagery Analysis, or related STEM degree 

Senior-level experience (12+ years) with GEOINT data. 

Senior-level experience (12+ years) to include guidance, consultation, facilitation, and thought leadership in such fields as: 

GEOINT image formation and exploitation 

Photogrammetry 

Triangulation 

Image registration and fusion 

Geolocation and relative mensuration 

Working knowledge of existing or emerging GEOINT sources or applications, exploitation methods, and analysis techniques. 

Strong oral and written communication skills 

 

Desired Qualifications 

 

MS or higher degree in Engineering, Science, Imagery Analysis, or related STEM degree 

Experience in the GEOINT analytic tradecraft designing and testing system and algorithm performance 

Experience working in the DoD/IC 

Previous NGA and/or NSG/ASG program/project work experience 

 

Security Clearance Requirements: Active TS/SCI (with Poly preferred)
