The Opportunity

We are seeking expressions of interest from Cyber Security Professionals to support, plan, and deliver assignments for a Defence Client.

Under direction, the Cyber Security Analyst will apply theories, concepts, principles, and processes to develop high‑quality solutions and deliverables. This includes identifying, analysing, evaluating, and monitoring complex systems and environments that are internal and external to a client organisation.

Cyber Security Analysts will assist with the preparation of briefs and reports that summarise client findings, concisely communicating their methodology and results. They will work within delivery teams to achieve project milestones aligned to a project schedule and communicate complex ideas and limitations to KBR and client leaders. 

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:

Apply cybersecurity principles aligned with international standards and best practice

Understand the client context from a cyber maturity and supply chain perspective

Conduct cyber maturity assessments aligned to client requirements

Produce recommendations based on cybersecurity assessments and inform client decision makers

Effectively engage and liaise with stakeholders from inside and outside the organization

Support elements of project delivery, including maintaining project schedules, workshop facilitation, and chairing and minute taking of project meetings

Work in a multidisciplinary team and proactively seek opportunities to contribute

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

Minimum experience of 2 years working in a cybersecurity role

Understanding of international cybersecurity frameworks and standards

Understanding of Cyberworthiness within a Defence context.

Ambition to grow and develop their cyber technical skills, including professional accreditation in information and/or cybersecurity

Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a trait of resourcefulness

Sound written and verbal communication skills to communicate complex and abstract problems to a non‑technical audience

Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce

Competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project applications

A current AGSVA Baseline security clearance with the ability to upgrade and maintain an NV1 security clearance

Desirable:

A tertiary qualification in engineering, computer science or technology

Experience working within Defence, preferably working within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), Naval Shipbuilding Sustainment Group (NSSG), Joint Capability Group (JCG), or Chief Information Officer Group (CIOG)

Experience working in project teams and delivering projects
