HOW AN IMAGERY ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
The Imagery Analyst examines images and remotely sensed data to extract intelligence information used to inform decision makers. The analyst also provides recommendations on software advancements, performs software functional testing, and support innovation activities to ensure analytical workflows are improved or enhanced.
Utilizes Geographic Information System techniques to provide a better understanding of certain variables in a given geographic location. Solid understanding of GIS and Imagery Analysis theory and applications.
Extracts data using analytical software and uses varying analytical methods drive assessments and produce products.
Recommends appropriate reactionary strategies in response to spatial analysis. Provides imagery data and data sets to clients to supplement analysis.
Knowledgeable of GIS software and technology. Expertise in performing data conversion migration, and translation activities utilizing advanced processing techniques.
Design and implement efficient production tools and coordinate workflow with project personnel. Ensure quality, accuracy and currency of geospatial information produced.
Performs finishing or remote sensing data, producing and maintaining cartographic databases, updating cartographic data from intelligence databases and producing mission specific data sets.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Master’s Degree in computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience
10-15 years of related experience in data security administration.
Active TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI poly
Two years of practical work experience exploiting National Technical Means (NTM) imagery
Have one year experience writing technical products, reports, and briefs
Formal military analysis training completion or equivalent civilian Remote Sensing Certification(s)
Technical proficiency and understanding of GIS Enterprise concepts (ESRI and Open Source)
Familiarity with NTM GEOINT tasking and collections requirements mechanisms and tools
Experience with employment, acquisition, and development of GEOINT collection, processing exploitation and dissemination systems
Two years of practical work experience using Army Tactical Intelligence Ground Station (TGS)
Two or more years of practical work experience using the Geospatial Intelligence Workstation (GWS)
Knowledge/Understanding enduring Army GEOINT Ground Stations
Unmanned Aerial Systems
National and Tactical GEOINT collection and exploitation
Target Coordinate Mensuration/Target Mensuration Only
Analysis and production workflow processes
Common Geo-positioning System
Distributed Common Ground System
Geospatial Information Systems
DOT Matrix or MOVINT Client
Net-Centric Geospatial Discovery Services
Full Spectrum GEOINT
Able to operate in a disconnected team environment and manage projects and perform work with little oversight.
