The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:
Raytheon Technologies (RTX) has an opening for a Sr. Manager, SAP ABAP Developer (Sr. Manager, Business Systems and Transformation) to design, code, unit test, debug, and implement SAP ABAP applications. Individual Contributor Role. Remote Opportunity.
The developer is required to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions to customers; have strong application development and systems integration experience. This person will adhere to Raytheon development standards and methodologies. Capable of performing code reviews with peers and be able to recognize good programming techniques that enable the developer to correct coding problems. This position will work as part of the SAP Development team.
Job Responsibilities
Partner with functional teams to review functional specifications and produce technical design specifications
Provide level of effort estimates based on functional specifications or business requirements
Design, code, unit test, debug and implement SAP ABAP applications while working closely with functional teams
Resolve open development issues and make decisions about alternate technical approaches
Proactively provide work status
Follow development standards and methodology
Ensure that documentation is properly maintained
Support the change control process
Conduct code reviews with peers
Support application upgrades
Work Defects
Develop test plans for new or modified programs
Test, debug, implement, and document fixes
Perform issue resolution and root cause analysis
Provide advanced problem solving and technical support, including on-call critical support
Available to support off-shift system support
Required Qualifications:
Typically a minimum of 10+ year’s SAP experience and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 7+ years related work experience.
SAP experience (SD, MM, PP, QM, PM, FI and core capabilities like OO ABAP, ALE/EDI, WF, WebDynpro ABAP )
Experience at an SAP A&D company
Experience with SAP workflow framework and custom development
Demonstrated soft skills required for the presentation of ideas and concepts to stakeholders such as vendors, end users and senior management
Excellent verbal, written, communication, presentation and negotiations skills
Strong customer service approach and effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels
Ability to collaborate and work well with others and ability to lead technical development projects
Ability to engage vendor support on technical and functional issues and direct SAP development team to resolve issues.
Expert troubleshooting techniques and ability to escalate issues properly and in a timely fashion
US Citizen
Desired Qualification:
Strong understanding and implementation experience using the scaled agile framework (SAFe) methodology
Available to support off-shift system support
Experience with Raytheon’s current Procurement processes
Experience with Raytheon’s PRISM system
Experience working with current Raytheon Enterprise Services Business System Experts (BSEs) and other software developers
Knowledge or skills related to User Experience (UX)
Experience delivering ECC and DT solutions outside of the United States
Effective communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, customer support environment and with all levels of the organization
Working knowledge of the OSS process
Working knowledge of the ABAP development process
Good understanding of performance tuning
Good understanding of dialog programming
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
Experience extending SAP standard functionality using ABAP Objects and other modern SAP technologies.
Working knowledge of SAP DIMP primarily in an Aerospace and Defense setting
Experience documenting As-Is and To-Be processes
Raytheon CORE certification
Required Education:
Typically a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD – 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
