Position Role Type:

Onsite

Opening on 2nd shift for a candidate who has experience brazing operations to seal unit cover to housing using a variety of brazing equipment. After units are brazed closed, then are backfilled with a helium/nitrogen gas.  A water leak test & a helium leak test is performed using appropriate test equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Learn how to set up and operate automatic and manual welding machines according to specifications.
Performs welding, soldering, and brazing on difficult production and prototype instrumentation piece parts.
Learns how to perform cleaning operations as may be required as performed in production
Learns how to inspect and check dimensions using precision gauges and measuring instruments.
Learns how to assemble parts and position in fixture.
Learns how to operate the CNC equipment as required to complete the weld.
Performing cleaning operations after welding as may be required to complete the weld.
Learns how to perform non-production welds.
Read and interpret blueprints and specifications sheets.
Accurately complete production documentation and performs necessary labor transactions.
Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.
Actively participates in the Continuous Improvement process as well as safety related activities
Over 40 hours is required as scheduled to meet business needs.
All other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business.
Willingness to work nonstandard hours
Some Holiday hours may be required based on business need

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a US Person
High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Manufacturing background preferred.
Brazing
TIG welding experience preferred.
Manual dexterity to perform tasks associated with welding.
Ability to learn how to read and understand prints
Basic computer proficiency (e-mail, print documents, internet) and ability to learn how to operate a computer to access prints and/or specified work instructions.
Basic shop math including knowledge of Geometric Tolerances
Basic proficiency with identifying, analyzing and resolving problems
Ability to learn basics of the position within first 3 months of employment
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management
