What does the role look like?
We are recruiting an exciting Test & Development Manager role within our Secondary Flight Controls Value Stream. In this role you coach & mentor
a team of highly skilled engineers in the validation of requirements, verification and qualification of product designs which may include hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical and electronic elements and the associated documentation.
You will be a key contributor to the generation of verification test evidence demonstrating compliance to our customer requirements. Furthermore, you will help drive & lead the strategy, planning and execution of Qualification Programmes through engaging leadership of a small development team.
What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Leader of Qualification Strategy and Planning events delivering optimised test / similarity / analysis approach.
Leading complex Qualification Tests where required, monitoring, recording and interpretation of test data.
Identification of test equipment requirements and oversight of Test Rig and Equipment procurement and commissioning
Authorisation signature of Qualification and Development documentation.
Actively seek opportunities to make improvement step changes through the use of CI tools and kaizen events.
Customer interface for Qualification technical issues.
Validation / interpretation of customer requirements.
Responsible for the resourcing, training, development and deployment of engineers
Work with project leads to estimate resource levels for new bids and proposals
What will you bring to the role?
Essential:
Engaging ability to coach & mentor Engineering teams
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Technical awareness of problem solving in a hardware related environment
Previous experience in Test & Development
Desirable:
Previous experience in Aerospace/Defence would be advantageous
Logical approach to technical problem resolution and decision making, with a focus on process and compliance,
Fantastic communicator
Calm under pressure with a clarity of thought
Continuous improvement knowledge such as Kaizen & 5s
