We are looking for an entry level Flight Control Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of AFCS products for the next generation of business, regional, military, and air-transport aircraft. Typical functions to implement include flight guidance, autothrottle, autopilot, and autoland systems for Business and Regional and Air Transport aircraft. This entry level position represents a great opportunity to apply your systems engineering skills to actual real-time embedded systems with critical safety requirements. This role is in Cedar Rapids, IA, with relocation available, full remote option is also available.
Develop control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems. This includes flight guidance, autothrottle, and attitude control systems
Define and review system requirements for flight control systems including functional requirements and interface requirements
Develop models and simulation tools for various types of closed loop systems to assess performance
Conduct system verification and validation of the control algorithms, flight control system functional requirements and interface requirements.
Conduct development and certification flight test onboard flight test aircraft
Previous experience with Matlab/Simulink is desirable.
Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
