Role Overview:
Collins Aerospace in Cheshire, CT designs and manufactures a large portfolio of high precision inertial measurement sensors and systems. Our products are critical to many commercial and military applications. We have an opportunity for a mechanical or electrical engineer in our general engineering organization at our Cheshire, CT facility. This position will be responsible for the project management of ongoing production floor equipment, support for development of customer new projects and ongoing product support including internal support and development for new and current product.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support problem solutions with processes or equipment already in operation
Develop detailed Integrated Master schedules (IMS) supporting Customer projects and potential new product implementation
Make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new equipment and materials
Work with SAP, understanding Work Order, Routing, and BOM management
Conduct root cause investigations and develop failure analysis reports
Develop and support ongoing internal projects as directed, utilizing project management skills and IMS
Support manufacturing processes on the production floor from an engineering perspective
Ensure EH&S compliance
Support development of fixtures and tooling for existing and new products
Support capital equipment research and justification
Participate in the design and sustaining organizations involvement across multiple areas in the company ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and less than 2 years prior relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Preferred Qualifications:
ERP experience such as SAP
Microsoft Project experience including details of any IMS development
Root cause training/experience with processes such as Six Sigma or Core

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
