This position is for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer ensuring Collins Aerospace supplier products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location(s) as needed.  This will primarily be in the Everett, WA area but may require periodic travel to other locations.

Primary Responsibilities

Specifically, this candidate will conduct and manage supplier quality issues through monitoring / escalation processes, escape management, processing of supplier submission of non-conforming material and supporting internal MRB processes.

Initiates part specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions. Supports supplier qualification / certification.

Participates and manages source inspection and material release processes for suppliers in the Northwestern US.

Performs Escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis & problem solving (e.g., 8D) and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic process and product design problems for product provided by suppliers. 

Supports Corrective Action Boards with suppliers.

Proactively supports the Collins Aerospace Supplier Performance program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.

If supplier is underperforming, this person will be responsible to use Zero Defect Program (ZDP) formatted tools for supplier improvement activities.

Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies and addresses with key proactive quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), driving their implementation.

Ensures supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including resourcing gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.

Travel up to 75% within the region

Basic Qualifications

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience 

Experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Engineering or Special Processes

Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with causal analysis and associated problem-solving tools

Experience in FAI, PFMEA, PPAP, APQP

SAP experience

Auditing experience

Manufacturing Engineering experience

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD – 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
