Ideal candidate is a high energy leader, experienced in hands on driving of tactical execution and implementation of operational strategy in the aerospace and defense sector. They should possess high business acumen, a strong understanding of project management, along with practical operations experience. Accountable for the full lifecycle of assigned projects from inception through completion. Assigned as the chair of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) accountable for managing the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule, performance and on-time delivery of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Serves as the face of the organization to clients and customers.
This position expects to travel >50% of time (International & Domestic).
Primary Responsibilities
Develops and implements strategies to transform business and operational processes
Drives implementation of strategic sourcing and cost reduction strategies
Accountable for all project commitments including deliveries and financial performance
Leads an international team with matrixed responsibilities across functions.
Accountable for performance the team and influences matrixed IPTs decision making.
Drives a positive impact on customer satisfaction and business objectives throughout execution of project scope.
Regularly influences and negotiates to achieve and/or exceed enterprise commitments.
Leads decision making for the IPTs and applying critical thinking where incomplete data exists.
Develops internal and external networks and effectively communicates and motivates a team.
Communicates vision to their IPT and stakeholders within and outside of the function
Plans, directs, and monitors collateral budget and leads strategic efforts with financial impacts lasting 5+ years.
Responsibilities include interacting with internal and external customers, identifying opportunities to increase sales and profitability, managing technical and hardware deliverables, ensuring programs meet commitments on schedule and budget, and communicating the policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to the cross-functional team.
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, proactively identify problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or negotiating contractual specifications.
Be responsible for risk/opportunity management and earned value management of assigned work to ensure on-time and within budget completion, including work performed at subcontractors..
Represent our company with our customers and manage the program to meet contract requirements.
Organize and conduct program status reviews, team meetings, and various other regular business activities.
Represent the program or project to our company senior management, managing and reporting revenue, margin, capital expenditure, and other status as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Highly organized, attention to detail
Hands on project management experience

Experience managing tactical execution turn arounds, business transformations, or operational excellence projects
Proven experience with continuous improvement
Strong financial acumen
Have strong experience with manufacturing and operations
