Collins Aerospace is looking for a Senior Tooling Quality Engineer who will work with the Global Tooling Team to provide support to all Aerostructures sites and suppliers.

You will be collaborating with mechanical engineering, the data analytics team, supply chain, production and suppliers. You will provide support and oversite for Metrology Inspections at all Aerostructures sites. In addition, you will have an opportunity to develop advanced inspection techniques and processes.
 

The position will be working in a Hybrid capacity at our Chula Vista CA facility. Relocation Assistance is available.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop inspection plans, requirements, and procedures to ensure tool / product conformance.
Support Quality Technicians with regards to metrology inspection and reverse engineering.
Support inspection activities by providing complete documentation and inspection packages as required by contract.
Participate in, support, mentor and coordinate various levels of Quality requirements related to tooling
Conduct quality contract reviews and incorporate customer requirements into tool quality procedures.
Perform QMS related audits.
Support equipment certification of Laser Trackers / PCMM / Scanners.
Support Digital Product Definition (DPD) plan, software testing, data analysis and training.
Support tooling transfers and startup activities to resolve Quality issues.
Maintain Site quality records, metrics, and databases.
Develop, manage and maintain Scripts and Macros to reduce cycle time and increase efficiency of the team
Able to communicate and make presentations to internal management level personnel.
Able to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit
Perform other duties and required

Basic Qualifications

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Aerospace experience
Basic understanding of design and manufacturing methods
Experience reading and interpreting 2D & 3D drawings.
Familiar with ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards.
Proficient in MS Office-Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge in CATIA V5 or similar CAD system.
Structured problem-solving tools.
Experience with Laser Trackers, PCMMs, Scanners, Photogrammetry, or similar metrology systems
VBA and other programming skills

The salary range for this role is 75,000 USD – 161,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
