So, what is Vision Systems looking for?  We need a motivated, professional, innovative, creative System Engineer that enjoys designing and developing high quality avionics products that fulfill the customer’s vision.   Vision Systems Engineering is fully involved from design concept to fielding of new technology.  We have an exciting variety of products that we create:  Enhanced Flight Vision Systems, Head Up Guidance Systems and more. 

This position is looking for an experience System Engineer.  This person will be working on all stages of the product development life cycle across the Vison Systems product lines.  Since the development requires some hands-on time in lab, this is a hybrid position.  Employees who are working in hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with the leader. 

Relocation assistance would be available for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performing system design though all phases of the system development lifecycle which includes capturing & analyzing customer requirements, breaking down the customer requirements into clear system and subsystem requirements, modeling system functions, integrating with hardware and software components, system validation & verification & qualification, aircraft level system integration and support system certification with aviation certification agencies.

Collaborating with engineers across other engineering disciplines & departments to create a functional system.

Supporting root cause analysis discovered during flight tests and in service operations

Supporting customer questions and investigation issues related to system hardware and software.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Ability to quickly acquire technical domain knowledge and contribute to the design of sophisticated architectural systems.

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).

The candidate must be highly motivated and a self-starter, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks.

The candidate must be willing to work with a wide variety of people and diverse teams.

Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge about primary flight information symbology, avionics, and aircraft sensors

Knowledge about Infrared image sensor and video image processing

Familiar with Boolean logic

Experience with aircraft system development and certification.

Experience developing systems that are compliant with ARP-4754, RTCA DO-178, DO-160 and DO-254.

Experience with ARINC standards: ARINC 429, ARINC 664, ARINC 818 and ARINC 661.

Experience with safety-critical, real-time, embedded system development

Experience with system safety analysis

Experience with DOORS / JAMA/ JIRA

Ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work

Experience with AGILE methodology

Experience with Matlab is a plus
