Senior Mechanical Engineer – IMSE Products

Position Description:

The Integrated Mission Systems Engineering Products team develops state-of-the-art products for Air Combat Test and Training and Autonomy Mission Engineering Solutions. The Products team is responsible for product line and engineering tasks related to maturing products from concept phase through accreditation and factory production, including design/development, analysis, build/test, and certification.

The Products team is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to drive execution excellence in the development of mechanical hardware used in high performance products to support the Test and Training and Autonomous Solutions portfolios.  This team will provide exposure to cutting edge technology with opportunity to significantly contribute to the creation of new products as well as improvements to existing products.

Job Responsibilities:

Expand and apply domain knowledge, process knowledge and knowledge of associated products and sub-systems
Create, capture, review, trace and modify requirements, applying the knowledge of processes, tools and methods in the management and tracking of requirements baseline
Design hardware to meet rigorous military requirements for environment, functionality, price, and Size Weight Power (SWaP)
Evaluate impacts of the hardware design on cost, schedule, technical performance, and testing and validation
Test and verify designs that meet documented hardware requirements
Assist with the creation and execution of test procedures to support the qualification of products to government standards
Provide cognizance and ownership with engineering and production build support, including hands-on technical assistance as well as documentation and drawing releases
Estimate, track, own and report status relating to technical, cost and schedule performance for assigned scope of work
Create and present task status and technical solutions to team members, engineering leadership, and customers
Work across multiple discipline teams and organizations to resolve complex issues
Utilize strong interaction and interpersonal skills to perform in a highly diverse engineering team

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR 
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR 
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required 
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
