The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is looking for a motivated individual with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science to support power supply test solutions.
The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international.?
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop Power Supply test software and hardware for Avionics products. Test Engineering offers an array of innovative test equipment solutions for Collins Aerospace products and programs. These test stations include but are not limited by the following COTs equipment: network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, DMM’s, logic analyzers, fiber optic measuring devices, optical measuring devices, power supplies and electronic loads.
Organizationally, the role reports to an Engineering Manager in the Avionics Test Engineering organization.?
Primary Responsibilities:??
Coordinates and facilitates the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuing work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.
Prepare and present project and/or technical information to peers, internal management, and customers.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks to ensure that business objectives and required specifications are met.
Prepares engineering sketches or specifications to construct, relocate, or install equipment, facilities, products, or systems??
Prepares documentation including confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on product development, introduction schedules, product costs, and performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze performance??
Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new products to ensure quality standards and business objectives are met?
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous power supply test engineering experience
Previous test equipment services experience
Software skills in LabView, Visual Basic (VB6), JAVA and .net desired
Big picture vision – how individual test solutions can benefit future platform solutions
Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with test equipment
Ability to excel in a team environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish effective working relationships.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Willingness to continually learn
