Smart Manufacturing blends advanced manufacturing technologies with digital connectivity to create a modernized factory with near real time operational awareness. 

This position is for a senior professional engineer with demonstrated experience in manufacturing processes and systems to deploy state of the art manufacturing technology into production.  These systems will be used to improve processes and enable digital connectivity throughout operations. 

The scope will include defining projects, developing budgets and project plans, and leading technology deployments in support of our industry 4.0 transformation.

Our ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing support and process development in a mechanical or electronics assembly factory.  Experience with process automation and machine connectivity, along with effective project management and communication skills are critical for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

Applies engineering knowledge and coordinates with other organizations to improve manufacturing operations.
Accountable for all phases of project execution from concept development through deployment.
Independently plans, prioritizes, and executes multiple engineering projects.
Leads cross functional teams to ensure effective deployment to live production.
Prioritizes tasks to ensure that the team’s overall resources are used effectively and that deadlines are met.
Maintain current knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and develop related project proposals.
Effectively communicate with operations and technical leadership on proposals and active projects.
Travel as needed for projects.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.
OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in Manufacturing Support in a high-mix factory
IIOT deployment experience
Ability to work across the organization vertically and horizontally
Effective verbal and communications skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools
