Collins Aerospace is standing up a Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) Program Management Office (PMO) to lead the DPLC initiative at Collins. This is a critical initiative to the future of our business that will catalyze a business transformation. To build out and scale capabilities across Collins, Integrated Product Teams (IPT) / Agile Release Train (ART) are being stood up:

This position is Life Cycle Data Applications Release Train Engineer. Data applications (e.g., Digital Thread) will give Collins Aerospace the framework to make decisions early as they relate to product enhancements, quality, reliability, and serviceability. Data Applications will provide fleet-wide control and visibility over the full lifespan of any product under observation, allowing for a proactive approach to product management. Design change effectivity, system-level interactions, airline maintenance deviations, enhanced PHM, rapid fault isolation, and precise factory demand loading for replacement parts are only a fraction of the use cases that will be enabled by life cycle data applications. All of this will provide cost savings, enable revenue generation, or both as we use this capability to provide differentiated product designs, operational efficiencies, and best-in-class customer experiences.

As the Release Train Engineer you will act as ‘Chief Scrum Master’ for the ART. The RTE serves as a leader to facilitate Lean-Agile value delivery at the program level. You will be responsible of working with the product Business Owner / Product manager to understand outcomes / value. With this you will manager and optimize the flow of value through the ART. You will collaborate between the product teams and program / system level stakeholders to ensure the teams are aligned to achieving the targeted program level outcomes. Through this, you will support the development of a new breed of product life cycle analytical capabilities and digital twins. You will enable the business to build their product digital thread that will enable future digital twins to drive new / optimized product design and development capabilities, enhancement and/or creation of new services for better in-field support, maintenance, and aftermarket processes.

You will engage, collaborate, and build relationships with leaders across product teams (Collins & RTX) to execute on the ART vision / roadmap for Collins. This will require you to recommend, identify, negotiate priority / dependencies within the data applications ART and other ARTs that own decennaries.

Your role will key to delivering outcomes / value that will re-shape aerospace through data to realize a best-in-class customer experience and operational excellence.

This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote.

Primary Responsibilities:

Act as the ‘Chief Scrum Master’ for the Product Lifecycle Data Applications ART

Ensures adherence to agile process methods, facilitating agile ceremonies, artifacts, and enterprise visibility on spend to value

Managing and optimizing the flow of value through the ART

Enables the creation of product roadmaps with the Product owners, supported by artifacts such as Lean business cases.

Fostering collaboration between teams and system-level stakeholders

Facilitates PI Planning readiness by fostering a continuous exploration process which drives the vision, roadmap, and backlogs through pre and post PI planning meetings

Tracking and communicating key ART execution metrics

Escalating and tracking of ART impediments

Facilitate relentless improvement for the ART

Operational responsibilities:

Facilitates and tracks program level execution and PI feature delivery; resolves / escalates as needed impediments and mitigates risks 

Ensure strategy and execution alignment by working with IPT team, Product Owners, and other Key stakeholders from the SBU 

Owns the cadence and success for the PI planning, ART sync, PO Sync. Scrum of Scrums, Inspect and Adapt and Demoes 

Coordinate the value delivery of major features between the SBU stakeholders 

Coordinates the SBU releases as applicable 

Facilitates the program feature backlog grooming 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR

Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR

In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior Experience as a Release Train Engineer in organizing, planning and executing large scale projects from concept to implementation 

Experience with Scrum, Kanban, Lean Portfolio Management and SAFe (certification or willingness to certify) 

Experience with Collaboration Tools like Teams, Collab board, Polarion, SharePoint etc. 

Effective communication skills for the purpose of providing and explaining technical content, product or service or solution related information to appropriate levels within the team and to leadership. 

Broad understanding of data hubs, data factories, engineering and manufacturing data systems is preferred. 

Knowledge of engineering & manufacturing data sources, integrations, and interactions. 

Multi-application and cross-platform design experience is preferred. 

General understanding of digital industry trends including Mobile, Cloud/SaaS, Analytics, Social, and Security/Risk Management, and Internet of Things.

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD – 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
