What does the role look like?

This role is for a Quality Systems Engineer in Central Quality Systems.  The successful candidate will perform general central quality duties predominantly in facilities located within Wolverhampton and Banbury.

The role is predominantly focussed on compliance and the candidate will work with Quality Management System documentation and records systems as well as getting involved in process corrections and projects focussed on improving compliance. 

Ideally the candidate will have aerospace experience and will be willing to learn external and internal quality requirements and apply them to day-to-day compliance and advising on rectification of issues.

What will your day-to-day responsibilities look like?

You will be part of the central team managing overall compliance to regulatory, customer and corporate requirements

Ensuring that compliance activities, auditing, document management, records management etc. are conducted in line with required schedules

Assisting in the organisation and execution of audits from 2nd and 3rd parties

Assisting personnel in the successful investigation of audit corrective actions to root causes and consulting on robust solutions

Participation in CORE activities to improve processes and compliance

Improving customer satisfaction and market feedback analysis for the quality function

Continual learning of the internal quality requirements of the Collins organisation and developing processes to apply them

Professional and factual communication with other areas, leadership and stakeholders

What will you bring to the role?

Process driven, ability to take issues, link them to documented requirements and work as part of a team to understand process corrections required

Root Cause experience using 8D process or similar

Preferably qualified to degree level (although suitable experience will be considered)

Excellent communicator and co-ordinator

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage tasks effectively

Strong, structured organization, planning, and execution capabilities

Ability to manage effectively in a high-pressure environment

Ability to react to urgent business requirements

Resilient in enforcing quality requirements, against resistance

Willing to travel when required within UK and abroad on occasion

Skills that are Essential for this role:

Experience within a Quality Systems Engineering position (preferably at least 12 months in an organisation within the aerospace industry)

Excellent communication skills, with fluent written and spoken English to a technical level.

PC literate – capable user of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, (previous SAP experience an advantage)

Skills that are desirable in this role:   

Experience of industry standards and regulations (knowledge of AS9100 and regulatory requirements advantageous but not essential)

Auditing experience (preferably within an aerospace environment)

Professional presentation skills when presenting to Leadership
