This position is for a professional seeking career growth in a stimulating environment. The Quality Engineer is provided with opportunities to gain visibility from site leadership and customers by working as an individual contributor to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on site quality health. Manages Quality Engineering projects and/or processes. Uses experience and knowledge to influence the development, modification, application, and maintenance, of quality control systems and protocols. This role will be responsible for non-conformance and escape management including operational support and MRB.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for manufacturing products.
Ensures that projects and/or process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts.
Reviews and makes recommendations for Quality Assurance plans, guidelines, policies, and processes to ensure the achievement of Quality targets.
Collects and analyzes data for the development of quality strategy and programs to ensure on-going reductions in Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and escapes.
Performs escape management procedures and leads teams to investigate the root cause of customer escapes and non-conformances as well as implement corrective/preventive actions.
Maintains customer relationships and collaborates on quality scorecard ratings.
Provides technical guidance and support and maintains a strong working relationship with the inspection and operations teams.
Develops new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance.
Utilizes PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans) to identify and make recommendations for managing risk in product development.
Participates in internal, customer, and third-party regulatory audits.
Supports Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
Supports review and implementation of engineering change orders.
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced MS Suite experience with knowledge in VB scripting.
Experience with root cause analysis.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Six Sigma/Lean deployment and process improvement experience (green belt preferred).
AS9100 experience.
