This position is for a Principal Systems Engineer in the Avionics Advanced Technology group. This group supports all of the Avionics Strategic Business Unit in maturing and transitioning technologies that enable advanced capabilities and functions across the organization. The team is cross-functional and composed of systems and software engineers with a variety of expertise. Areas of near-term focus include development and application of current and future technologies for both the commercial and military autonomy problem spaces.
As a systems engineer on the team, you will be part of a highly motivated and extremely innovative team supporting the development of rapid prototypes and proof of concepts for internal and external demonstrations. This is a unique position where every day will be a little bit different with new challenges and problems to be solved allowing you to use a diverse set of skills and continue to learn new ones. Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of physiological monitoring projects
Explore new technologies and their implications for new operational concepts
Design and develop research prototypes to quickly demonstrate technology concepts
Demonstrate new technologies to leadership and customers
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Human factors and human systems integration
Avionics systems development or certification experience
Creativity to develop new or novel ideas to solve problems
Preferred Qualifications:
Linux, Python, ROS, C++, C, Git, Docker
Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Deep Learning
Image Processing and/or algorithm development
Experience in aviation such as pilots license or UAS Part 107 license
Experience with biomedical development, including human physiology, signal processing, human experimentation (experiment design, IRB, data collection & analysis), and biomarker algorithm development
