Principal Electronic Design Engineer (Hybrid)
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Primary Responsibilities:
ISR Systems Princeton is looking for an Electronic Systems Design Engineer, who will perform a key role in the development of III-V detector camera system products and test systems. The primary responsibilities of the position include system electronics architecture design, detailed printed circuit board level analog and digital circuit design, prototype debug, test, and evaluation, and generation of design documentation for transfer to production. Technical leadership responsibilities of the position include technical lead of electronics development project teams, contribution to R&D contract proposals, and collaboration with program planning and management.
The candidate will have a proven track record in systems and circuit design. He/she will be capable of architecting a system based on customer and marketing specifications, guiding a team effort to produce a final product meeting customer needs. Hands-on design and debugging skills are required. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the position will entail significant interaction with other departments and customers. The candidate should be comfortable making presentations at all levels.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Strong digital and analog circuit design experience required.
Familiarity with printed circuit board and FPGA design methodology is required.
Proficient in circuit simulation and analysis.
Knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout software required, Mentor Graphics Expedition preferred.
Experience in circuit-level design of imaging systems, video systems, or instrumentation is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing with Intel and/or Microchip FPGAs desirable.
Ability to read & follow VHDL coding desirable.
Ability to read & follow C/C++ coding a plus.
Experience with common communications interfaces such as (Q)SPI, I2C, UART, LVDS, SERDES etc.
Knowledge of Camera/Video system interfaces such as MIPI, USB, Ethernet, Cameralink, parallel etc.
The position does not require a security clearance but the ability to obtain one is desirable.
