A successful candidate will be responsible for Mechanical Systems engineering deliverables such as but not limited to mechanical system design, mechanical system equipment selection, 3d modeling of hose routing, substantiation documents, test plans, and test reports. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide engineered solutions for Mechanical systems that involve detailed design which include component design and/or component selection on assigned components
Specification review and requirements assessment
Identifying compliance differences between specified requirements and our existing capabilities
Developing qualification documents such as substantiation documents, test plans, test procedures, and test reports
Reviewing customer comments against those qualification documents, resolving differences, and updating documents
Interfacing with customer, systems engineers, and program managers to address design and compliance issues as needed
Works with management and supply chain to ensure testing happens as planned.
Conducts and participates in tests to validate the robustness and proper performance of new product designs
Interfaces w/suppliers, electrical engineering, system architects, ODM, quality, tooling engineering and other development groups to ensure the successful development and launch of new products
3D routing of water and air hoses

Minimum Requirements:

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Product knowledge base includes, but is not limited to, fluid handling equipment such as actuated or manual valves, pumping equipment, high speed blowers or fans, plumbing elements, thin-walled pressure vessels, and fluid/pneumatic seal designs.
CAD modeling of parts and constraint assembly, with associated detail drawings and layouts.
ANSI Y14.5 and working familiarity with GDT.
Tolerance stack ups – fits and clearances.
Design of mechanical components and fastening methods.

Preferred Requirements:

Preferred candidate will have experience in development and integration of aircraft equipment and electro-mechanical systems.
Familiarity with interpreting and creating equipment specifications, specifying and conducting verification testing, and generation of qualification and certification documentation related to Chapter 38 Water and Waste equipment and systems, or similar cabin equipment.
Working experience with LabVIEW or other data acquisition systems
Working experience with simulation tools such as CFD and FEA
Ideal candidate has design experience utilizing Siemens NX CAD software, Teamcenter PLM, Altium or equivalent PCB layout tool.
Experience with manufacturing processes, but is not limited to machined elements, forging, casting, injection molding, thermal forming, and sheet metal fabrications.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD – 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
