Role Overview: 

Are you an experienced business analyst with a passion for improving manufacturing processes? Do you have a strong background in Solumina, the leading manufacturing execution system (MES) software? We are looking for a Principle Solumina Business Analyst to join our team and help us implement and optimize Solumina solutions for our locations. 

The Digital Product Life Cycle (DPLC) i4.0  Manufacturing Execution team and Collins Aerospace are seeking Principal Business Analyst – Manufacturing Execution to lead strategic Solumina MES projects.  The person will serve as the technical lead and business solution analyst on these key initiatives. They will serve a key role as the MES champion for Digital Product Lifecycle as we accelerate our deployment of iSeries to more sites.  The team supports 9000 Solumina  users worldwide today.   

The i4.0  Manufacturing Execution team is growing at Collins Aerospace to support many major business projects.  These key initiatives include implementing and upgrading our Manufacturing Execution Systems (Solumina), shop floor automation, middleware applications and SAP alignment.  These initiatives will help drive factory transformation, increasing manufacturing efficiency and improved end user experience. The ideal candidate will have worked in a manufacturing environment and has led a team supporting critical factory floor applications.

Primary Responsibilities: 

Gathering and analyzing business requirements and translating them into functional specifications for Solumina 

Configuring, testing, and deploying Solumina modules and customizations according to best practices 

Providing end-user training and support for Solumina 

Troubleshooting and resolving any Solumina-related issues 

Collaborating with other Solumina experts and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery and customer satisfaction 

Technical lead for all new Solumina projects for the MES & Repair 4.0 team 

Partner with new sites in developing standard training documentation. 

Lead train the trainer events at new manufacturing sites 

Develop a library of training material for DT personnel 

Train DT personnel on how to become an effective MES business analyst 

Create testing scripts in conjunction with new sites 

Maintain a library of testing material from past and future go-lives 

Coordinate with DT management on project needs/requirements 

Consult with external 3rd parties to evaluate current and future MES and related product (reporting) needs 

Partner with key business users and DT in setting the direction for a Lite MES solution 

Provide status updates to leadership on projects and strategic initiatives 

Act promptly to resolve issues as they arise, coordinating with other Digital Technology teams as required to see the issue through to completion 

SAP Manufacturing experience is a plus!

Basic Qualifications:  

Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder 

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
