Collins Aerospace is looking for an established Manufacturing Engineer to develop, design and plan layouts. As a Manufacturing Operations Engineer, you will provide support for current production and new product implementation. In this role, you will work with internal and external customers to help improve production methods, determine manufacturing capacity, and set up production schedules.

This role will allow you to learn procedures and strategies associated with process improvements in a team-based aerospace environment.  The skills acquired allow for possible progression to project management and leadership.  At Collins, the paths we pave together lead to limitless possibility. Primary Responsibilities

Apply scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.
Ensures novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.
Designs and plans layout for optimal assembly and materials handling.
Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Identify and implement process optimization and control methods to eliminate/prevent quality turn backs/escapes and reduce overall product costs.
Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
Introduce new product into production by implementing sequence of operations and procedures
Co-ordinate fabrication of tools and equipment.
Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Develop time and cost estimates.

Basic Qualifications

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Ability to read and interpret specifications and engineering drawings/models.
Ability to demonstrate adaptation of machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
Read, write, speak, and understand work instructions both verbal and written, perform basic math calculations and conduct self-inspection / audit.

Preferred Qualifications

Electronics/Electrical experience.
Experience in a union environment or within the aerospace industry.
Microsoft Office.
Lean/Continuous Improvement experience.
Basic understanding of Project Management.
