Collins Aerospace is hiring a General Manager Site Lead to work with customers, serve as the face of the organization, and directly manage the operations of multiple business segments and product groups within the Collins Aerospace facility. This position will lead with a business mindset, oversee daily operations, design strategies for transformation, growth and profitability, customer and employee engagement, pursue and achieve targeted goals, lead cultural change, and direct employees for operational success.
This is onsite role in York, Nebraska. Relocation assistance will be provided.
Primary Responsibilities:
Sets overall plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with the Collins Management System, Values and Philosophy.
Coordinates and directs through managers, all functions of facility operations, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Mfg Engineering, Safety, Quality, Supply Chain Management, Contracts, OpEx, HR and Finance.
Aligns operational objectives with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce.
Directs, coaches and mentors the site leadership team in the performance of their respective roles and consistent with the Collins Path model.
Fosters an environment which promotes Collins’ goals, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships.
Drives compliance to the ethics policy and holds others accountable for ethical conduct.
Develops controls and critically reviews results of operation in reference to planned objectives.
Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the safety, quality, on-time delivery, efficiency, and profitability of the overall plant.
Maintains a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to high levels of employee engagement.
Attracts, selects, develops, trains, coaches, appraises and motivates managers and other personnel for key staff positions and the facility.
Assures timely and relevant communications to and from all levels. This includes assuring communications between affected reporting areas and to related departments. Responsible for establishing systems that would enhance intra- and inter-departmental communications.
Focus is on formation and execution of long-term strategic goals (i.e., more than 3 years) to achieve business results, which may require substantial development of new processes, standards or operational plans to achieve strategies.
Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.
Extensively analyzes problems to seek understanding of the underlying issue and root cause of the problem.
Responsible for improving upon entire processes or systems, leveraging on personal past experiences and in-depth understanding of best practices in the marketplace that may improve the competitive position of the organization.
Communicates with parties within and outside of own business unit/region and has responsibilities for communicating with parties external to the organization, which includes customers or vendors.
Requires ability to communicate with senior executive leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization.
Conducts briefings to senior leaders both within and outside of the job function.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience OR
In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Lean/Six Sigma quality and operating systems
Experience in a manufacturing site recovery, driving transformation and change management.
Previous experience directly leading teams of 200+ in manufacturing operations including CNC, machining, fabrication and special processes.
Technical understanding of machining or metal mechanic processes and equipment is a must.
