Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for an Engineer II, Software Engineering. This is a 100% remote position; may work from anywhere in the U.S. Periodic travel to the company’s facilities in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is required.

Primary Responsibilities:
Measure and analyze software designs for equipment/ products to ensure current and future needs of the business are met.
Build and implement procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and functions.
Operate equipment and computer systems for testing and software design purposes to facilitate operation and ensure that established objectives are achieved.
Design, develop, document, test and debug control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
Determine end-user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
Ensure hardware and software standards are met.
Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
May develop software configuration standards for company-wide use.
May train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and the implementation of software quality standards.
Includes control modeling (model-based design).
Required Qualifications:
At least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Demonstrable experience in a Software Engineering position
Demonstrable experience with developing requirements, designing re-usable software components, testing/debugging, writing test cases and test procedures, running test procedures and reviewing structural coverage analysis reports
Demonstrable experience with implementing requirements into code for application software
Demonstrable experience working with Python scripting
Demonstrable knowledge of the tools ECLIPSE, MATLAB, DOORS, PREP, Jira, and SVN
The salary range for this position is $90,750 to $115,000 per year.
