Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Business Systems for ISS, the Continuous Improvement Intern will partner with business and corporate organizations to deploy the CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence) Operating System and related strategies throughout the business unit. This will involve hands on identification and implementation of business process changes designed to improve customer satisfaction and increase profitability.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Primary Responsibilities:
CORE Implementation and Continuous Improvement Support
Support the deployment of the Collins Aerospace CORE Operating System for the ISS business unit
Facilitate setting up Obeya/Metrics rooms, Policy Deployment, Macro Planning and PDPR processes
Drive the use of CORE tools and methodologies in both back office and manufacturing environments
Provide direct support for new site startups, renovation projects and production layout modifications necessitated by changes in customer demand
Provide detailed, accurate 2D and 3D modeling for cell, line and factory designs using Visio, Autodesk applications and 3D modeling software
Participate in LEAN Six Sigma events leveraging value stream mapping, manufacturing standard work and cell design, 5S, TPM, process certification, root cause analysis, set up time reduction, and benchmarking
Setup KPIs, visual controls and balanced labor models taking planned and unplanned takt time changes into consideration
Implement standard management methodologies at all levels within the factory
Basic Qualifications
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
Must be a US Citizen
