Collins’ 160,000-square-foot Monroe, NC MRO facility serves more than 300 customers across the aerospace and defense industry. The site repairs more than 6,500 unique part numbers for commercial and military aircraft—including actuation systems, helicopter rescue hoists and air management systems—and provides aircraft-on-the-ground services. The Monroe site is one of Collins’ largest MRO facilities in the world, and the repairs we provide are essential to keeping our airline and military customers’ aircraft in service.

We are seeking an innovative and energetic engineering student to join our Continuous Improvement team. In this role, the identified candidate will develop the skills to analyze and improve business and technical processes utilizing Lean Tools and Systematic Problem Solving. They will also utilize data analytics and visualization to improve communication and enable Real Time Problem Resolution. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday, and will run May/June- December; it is only eligible for current students with a graduation date past December 2023.

Primary Responsibilities

Supports operations by analyzing, optimizing, and standardizing business and technical processes.

Identify problems, conduct root cause analysis and determine corrective actions and validation.

Ability to be flexible (change priorities as needed), hands-on, analytical, and intuitive.

Basic Qualification 

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications 

Excellent Computer skills (MS Office, Tableau / Power BI, Minitab, SAP)

Prior experience communicating across teams and platforms to successfully collaborate on projects/goals

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
