(This is a level 5 position)
This is an advanced-level position that works with computer numeric controlled (CNC) machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials.
Facilitates real time problem resolution with team members and cross functional teams
Provide training and feedback to team members to enhance quality skills and eliminate quality escapes or concerns
Coach and lead machinists on proper machine shop practices
Act as a facilitator and team leader
Consistently works on a variety of highly complex requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve
Implements procedures to improve the functioning for better efficiency and productivity
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments
Identify opportunities for program and work-holding improvements
Demonstrates positive collaboration with cross functional teams
Supports employee career development
Establishes conditions to avoid disagreement and resolve conflict when it occurs
Consistently promotes high standards so each team member understands the standards and behaviors expected of them
Covers for supervisor in his/her absence
Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate effectively with members of the team from various backgrounds
Supports employee training and involvement in CI activities
Create shop aids and standard work instruction for process improvements
Participate in all team stand-ups and uses safe ergonomic practices in performing job
Participate in EHS risk reduction activities and eliminate safety hazards
Adhere to all Collins rules and codes of conduct
May perform other job duties as required and available for overtime as necessary
HS diploma and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 8 years of relevant experience is required
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position
Has understanding of CNC programming
Ability to lead small groups
Must have strong knowledge of cutter types and usage
Must have precision machining skills
Ability to use proper machining calculations and formulas
Proficiency with all precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to work in a standing position up to 8 hours per day
