Collins Aerospace is one of the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products. The ISR & Space Systems business unit provides products and services to global government and commercial customers that enable mission success in the harshest environments of space, in the air, at sea, and on the ground. We design and manufacture Environmental Control and Life Support Systems (ECLSS) and Active Thermal Control Systems (ATCS) on a number of space & sea platforms including the International Space Station, the U.S. space suit, the next generation of space vehicles such as CST-100 and Orion, and the US Navy’s submarine fleet.
Responsibilities
Researches new catalysts for environmental control and life support systems
Writes test plans and procedures
Manufactures catalysts using laboratory equipment
Tests catalysts for performance, durability, and longevity
Writes technical reports and manufacturing plans for catalysts
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required
Physically capable of handling catalyst components up to 25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
Mechanically inclined
Working proficiency with MS Office Suite
Strong attention to detail
Ability to build positive relationships
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Promoting teamwork and an inclusive environment
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Experience with catalyst development and manufacturing processes
Experience in an R&D laboratory or production support environment
Understanding of trace contaminants and catalyst poisoning mechanisms
